Happy Holidays from KSYK

As we welcome in the holiday season at Kulosaari, students and faculty are showcasing holiday spirit and enjoying our community. Lights and decorations, along with various traditional celebrations filled the school with excitement and cheer through the winter. From Christmas dress-up days to gingerbread baking, our school is celebrating together and awaiting a break from school to relax and enjoy our loved ones.

On Wednesday we celebrated the ending of school with the traditional holiday party. With performances from the chorus and school band, as well as a poem composed by the student council, students were able to enjoy a moment together and witness the talent of our performing arts. A surprise visit from Santa and a performance by teachers closed off the celebration and left the student body in a festive spirit.

Here are some pictures of the very entertaining holiday party. A celebrity guest, Santa and his little helper, was also seen in the holiday party:

The KSYK chorus led secondary and upper secondary students in a sing-along earlier in the week. Students gathered in the central hall to sing classic Christmas songs being led by the upper secondary school’s chorus.

Students singing the beautiful Christmas song "Joulumaa".

Our school's Lucia procession graced the hallways with music and candlelight to celebrate Saint Lucy’s Day.

Our school mascot, Ässä, brings holiday cheer to student’s days and brings a smile to everyone’s face. He can be found napping in the office, showing off his tricks or greeting arriving students in the morning. His celebratory style has been a source of inspiration for teachers and students, who can be seen throughout the school sporting Christmas sweaters and elf hats.

Second year upper secondary tutors organized holiday parties for first year students, where they played Christmas music, decorated gingerbread cookies and made Christmas-related decorations and cards.

And finally, numerous Christmas lights bringing atmosphere to the school and its surroundings.

Happy Holidays from the whole Huhuu team!
